Skit Spotlight!

The best part about a meal at Pine Cove? Okay, other than the tater tots? Skit! Each week, our staffers create a hilarious skit that always includes intense costumes, bad guys being defeated, and the entire camp cheering on the good guys. Step into the Ponderosa at the Ranch and check out one of their skit’s from this summer! 

During Week Four of camp, a famous rock band from Great Britain made their way to the piney woods in East Texas to stop at the Ranch! The band’s name was “Aluminum Balloon,” and it was made up of four (let’s count ‘em!) very unique performers. They had Spunkeys playing the keys, Singstiny leading everyone on the mic, Steven Strings on the guitar, and Christian GooDrum as the drummer. What a group! 

The crowd instantly went crazy for the Aluminum Balloons! But two people in particular were their biggest fans—Gunter and Tinka, who came all the way from Germany! They even had shirts with the band’s faces and names on them.

Things were going great for the band until Wednesday, when the band got into an argument during their rehearsal and ended up breaking up! Each band member got a new job and gave up their rock star lifestyle.

Christian GooDrum was especially heartbroken about the band breaking up. Thankfully, Gunter and Tinka were nearby to comfort him and they came up with an incredible idea… get the band back together through the power of love and friendship! 

Gunter and Tinka traveled all across the world finding the old band members at their new jobs. After lots of convincing, each band member agreed to reunite for one final concert on Friday at the Ranch! Their final song they performed together was “Livin’ On a Prayer!” The crowd was electric and even got to meet and get autographs from the band members!

We’re honored that Aluminum Balloon chose the Pine Cove Ranch to host their reunion! And who knows… maybe they’ll want to come back next summer!
