Pine Cove’s In-Depth Guide to Camper Pickup and Pre-Registration at Youth Camp

We hope you had a great week! We are excited to see you back for closing. We know you will be looking forward to seeing your camper and hearing about their experience.

Need directions? The camp address and GPS link are on the coming to camp page for your camp session.

If you have multiple campers at different camps, check the times, then plan to attend earliest event first. At the first event, let our staff know you have another camper to pick up at another camp and they’ll help speed you through.

Pick-Up Times

At closing celebrations, the whole camp gathers together one last time before saying goodbye. It’s a short, high-energy celebration of how the week went and what God did. After closing, campers will split up into their cabins for short presentations from their counselor on different characters qualities they saw in them during the week.

Send-offs are short ceremonies we hold for different grades at different camps to close out their last year at that camp property before they graduate to the next (or are done!). Other siblings at the same camp or other camps can be picked up before or after the send-off.

East Texas

Towers
Gates open: 8:15 am.
Closing Celebration: Join us in the dining hall at 9:00 AM for boys and 9:15 AM for girls for an energy-filled fifteen minute celebration of our camp week! Character qualities presentations will follow. If you need to pick up your camper before the ceremony, please email towers@pinecove.com by 9pm on Friday night. If you also have a camper at the Ranch, Timbers, or Shores, let your counselor know so they can have your camper go first during character qualities presentations. You should be able to make it over for their closings!

Ranch
Gates open: 10:00 am.
Closing Celebration: Join us at 10:30 am in the gym for a fifteen-minute celebration of our camp week! If you want to pick up your camper and leave before closing celebration, please arrive by fifteen minutes before the celebration to give us time to help you with pick-up.

Timbers
Gates open: 8:30 am.
Send-Off: 9th Grade Families! Join us at 9:00 am in the gym for a ten-minute ceremony honoring our graduating 9th graders before they head to the Shores next summer!

Shores
Gates open: 10:00 am.
Send-Off: 12th Grade Families! Join us at 10:30 am on the main field for a ten-minute ceremony honoring our graduating seniors!

Central Texas

Silverado
Gates open: 8:15 am.
Closing Celebration: Join us at 9:00 am in the gym for an energy-filled fifteen minute celebration of our camp week! Character qualities presentations will follow. Springs

Other Things to Remember

You’ll pick up your camper’s luggage, typically on arrival.

Check lost and found in case something somehow didn’t make it into your camper’s luggage.

Pick up your medication. It is illegal for us to mail prescription medication so we need you to pick up any leftover meds or empty containers.

Swing Through the Camp Store

Looking to stock up snacks and fun drinks for the car ride home? Come see us at the camp store! Or if your camper has had their eye on a piece of merchandise all week, you are welcome to go check that out with them and purchase it before you leave. Pine Cove’s camp stores exist to help camper’s remember their week and all that God did in their lives, and we have lots of cool items that can be that “Ebenezer” for them. 

Wondering to yourself, “Self, how do I collect any leftover money from my child’s camp account?” Great question! If they have more than $5 remaining, it will automatically be refunded to you. If the amount is less than $5, it will be donated to the McKenzie Scholarship Fund.

Simplified Automatic Pre-Registration

To keep things simple at pick-up and help families keep their spot, we’re guaranteeing another seriously fun summer by automatically pre-registering your camper for next summer. You will receive an email with more details before pick-up, which will also provide you an easy way to opt out. There will also be staff on property to answer any pre-registration questions you might have.
